Apéritif Restaurant has been named a Silver Winner for Best Fine Dining Restaurant in Bali at the Honeycombers Bali’s Best Awards 2026. Announced on 7 September 2026, the awards mark the third edition of Honeycombers’ annual celebration of Bali’s restaurants, hotels, wellness destinations and lifestyle brands.

This year, 135 brands competed across 27 awards in four categories covering food and drink, stays, lifestyle and wellness. Voting ran for six weeks, with more than 80,000 people casting their votes before Honeycombers counted and verified the results. Gold and Silver winners were then announced across the categories.

For Apéritif Restaurant, the recognition places the restaurant among the dining destinations that resonated most strongly with Bali’s dining public in 2026.

A Recognition From Bali’s Dining Community

A reader-voted award offers a different kind of recognition from one determined by a judging panel. It reflects the experiences diners chose to support, from memorable meals and celebrations to evenings spent exploring a degustation menu with friends, family or colleagues.

For Apéritif Restaurant, the Silver result sits alongside recognition from the wider culinary and hospitality industry. The restaurant has also received a Silver Star at the Star Wine List of the Year Southeast Asia 2026 and has been recognised by the World Culinary Awards and Tatler Asia.

Each award approaches a restaurant from a different perspective. A wine-list award considers the strength of its cellar and sommelier programme, while editorial and industry recognition can assess a broader range of culinary and hospitality qualities. A public vote adds another perspective by reflecting the experiences of the people who dine there.

European Technique. Indonesian Soul

Apéritif Restaurant’s culinary philosophy remains at the centre of the dining experience: European Technique. Indonesian Soul.

The kitchen combines European culinary techniques with the flavours, ingredients and traditions of the Indonesian archipelago. Classical methods provide precision, while regional Indonesian cuisine gives the menu its sense of place. Rather than simply recreating traditional dishes, the Apéritif Restaurant’s team interprets familiar flavours through a contemporary fine-dining approach.

The result can be seen throughout the menu, where Indonesian culinary references appear alongside refined European techniques. The approach allows local ingredients and regional dishes to remain recognisable while presenting them in a more contemporary format.

Guided by the Moon

The current Guided by the Moon menu takes its inspiration from the lunar cycle, with the phases of the moon shaping the progression of the dining experience. First introduced in September 2025 as the Lunar Cycle Menu, the concept has since evolved to place greater emphasis on Indonesia’s diverse regional cuisines and the stories behind them.

The current menu is available in five- and seven-course formats, with vegetarian and vegan degustation options also offered. The dishes change as the concept evolves, allowing the kitchen to work with seasonal ingredients and continue exploring Indonesian culinary traditions.

Recent highlights include tuna with pindang sauce, heirloom tomato with goat cheese and kombucha, Madura blue crab with risotto, bouillon, pumpkin and kemangi, and beef cheek inspired by coto Makassar. The menu also includes Apéritif Restaurant’s signature Venison Wellington with foie gras, rendang and sweet potato.

This evolving format is central to the restaurant’s approach. Rather than treating Indonesian cuisine as a fixed collection of traditional dishes, the kitchen uses regional flavours as a starting point for contemporary interpretations.

The Signature Venison Wellington

The Venison Wellington remains one of Apéritif Restaurant’s signature dishes. It combines venison and foie gras with sweet potato and a rendang-inspired sauce, bringing together a classic European preparation and a distinctly Indonesian flavour profile.

The dish captures Apéritif Restaurant’s culinary philosophy particularly well. The Wellington provides the European framework, while the rendang element connects the dish to Indonesia’s culinary heritage.

For guests looking for a vegetarian alternative, the Mushroom Wellington provides a similar centrepiece built around mushroom, kale, rendang and sweet potato.

Vegetarian and vegan degustation menus are available and can be arranged with advance notice. Guests with dietary requirements are encouraged to communicate them when booking, as menus and availability may vary.

An Art Deco Setting in Ubud

The dining experience extends beyond the food. Apéritif Restaurant occupies a grand standalone manor overlooking the lush valley of Ubud, with an Art Deco-inspired dining room and an open wine cellar forming a central part of the space.

The restaurant’s wine collection includes more than 500 wines, with the cellar displayed within the dining room rather than hidden away from view.

The main dining room accommodates up to 60 guests, while a Private Dining Room seats up to 10 guests around a single table. For guests looking for a more intimate setting, the restaurant also offers a Chef’s Table experience.

Adjacent to the restaurant, Pinstripe Bar provides a natural place to begin the evening. The bar opens daily from 4 pm and offers cocktails, live jazz, and cigars, making it possible to arrive before dinner and settle into the evening at a more relaxed pace.

Planning a Visit to Apéritif Restaurant

Apéritif Restaurant serves lunch from 12 pm to 2 pm and dinner from 6 pm to 8.30 pm. Reservations for lunch are recommended at least 24 hours’ booking. Walk-ins may be accepted subject to availability.

The recommended dress code is smart to formal. Sportswear and beachwear, including singlets and flip-flops, are not appropriate for the dining room.

Guests can also begin their evening at Pinstripe Bar from 4 pm before moving into the restaurant for dinner. Apéritif recommends arriving 30 minutes to one hour before a reservation if guests would like to enjoy pre-dinner drinks at the bar.

Apéritif Restaurant’s Silver recognition at the Honeycombers Bali’s Best Awards 2026 adds another chapter to the restaurant’s growing list of accolades.
