Apéritif Restaurant to participate in Ubud Food Festival (UFF) 2019

The recent announcement of Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants 2019 in Macao has solidified Ubud Food Festival’s reputation as Asia’s premier culinary event. From April 26th to 28th, this year’s festival in Ubud, Bali, will feature a lineup of acclaimed chefs collaborating for exclusive events, with three of them hosted at the new Apéritif Restaurant and Bar.

Ranked an impressive #18 on Asia’s 50 Best List is il Restaurante Luca Fantin in Tokyo. During the festival, Chef Luca Fantin will join forces with Chef Nic Vanderbeeken, who heads the kitchen at Viceroy’s Apéritif, to create an extraordinary eight-course menu of contemporary Mediterranean delights. This culinary extravaganza is scheduled for April 27th.

Another exciting collaboration, taking place on April 26th, involves Chef Deepanker Khosla from Bangkok’s Haoma Restaurant. Both chefs share a focus on sustainable fine dining, promising to whisk diners away on a gastronomic journey where Asian flavours are artfully combined with European techniques, all within the context of a “no waste” dining concept.

To complete this culinary journey, the “Fine Dining Royalty” event on April 28th will feature L’Atelier de Joël Robuchon, a group renowned for its fine dining establishments, collectively boasting 35 Michelin stars worldwide. Executive Pastry Chef Yannis Janssens, based at L’Atelier Bangkok, will collaborate with Apéritif’s Executive Pastry Chef Alexander McKinstry to craft an exceptional chef’s dessert menu.

In retrospect, Chef Nic hosted a “four hands collaboration” fine dining dinner at UFF in 2016, partnering with the young and talented world-class chef, Chef Julien Royer from Odette restaurant in Singapore. Remarkably, Odette claimed the top spot at the Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants 2019 awards ceremony on March 26th, surpassing the four-time winner, Gaggan.
